                                  Dear SCN Community;

                              On February 26th, SCN will be launching out into a 14-week journey from Ashes to Fire.  I want to ask you to begin praying that God would reveal to us those areas in our lives – our homes, our families - and our church, where the ashes have begun to gather so that together we can sweep them up in prayer and clean them out of our lives.  Why get rid of the ashes?  So that a fresh, new fire can come to life – the kind of life-giving, heart-warming, soul-kindling God makes available to all His children.

                              The centerpiece of our journey together is the word: IGNITE.  Over the next few months, we will be asking God to ignite our souls in these SIX key areas: Intercessory Prayer for Others); Godly Sorrow Over Sin; New Passion for the Things of God; Inviting Others into the Family of God; Telling Your Story; and Encouraging One Another.   I am asking each of you to make just a 14-week commitment to a small group for the express purpose of partnering with others in Christ to IGNITE your faith in fresh ways to the glory of God.  We’ll have more information about that on Sundays.

                              At the core of our journey, is intercessory prayer for those without Christ.  I’d ask that you identify SIX people you know that need to know Jesus as their Savior, and bring those names to church with you on the 26th so we can put these names before the LORD and pray God would bring them into a relationship with Himself.  As 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  Let’s give ourselves to clearing away the ashes so that a fire of Holy Spirit healing can ignite throughout of congregation and community.

                              So your pastor is asking you – even imploring you – to find a place of prayer each day and seek God’s guidance on the journey ahead.  Please grab a pencil and draw a line through your calendar from February 26th through the next 14 weeks and write, “No Sundays away from SCN: Going from Ashes to Fire!” And please partner with the rest of the SCN Family in preparing hearts and minds for the unpredictable fire of the Spirit set ablaze in our midst.

                              Humbly Preparing to Empty the Ashes,

                              Pastor Dom

                              February 16, 2012 UPDATE:
                              Thanks to everyone for supporting the Suriname team AGAIN last night (Feb. 15th)  - we raised another $55!

                              Hello SCN Family!

                              First, a huge THANKS to our Lord for such wondrous love shown to us in Christ.

                              Second, a HUGE thanks to everyone who worked so hard to provide the wonderful dinner on Sunday.

                              Third, PRAISE God and your generosity for the nearly $500.00 that came in towards the effort to share God's love with the people of Suriname this summer.

                              FOURTH, there was so much uncooked spaghetti left over Sunday that the team wants it to be shared at Wednesday night's "We R Family Dinner" (Feb. 15th)!  So, if you typically eat a dinner on Wednesday nights, COME ON OVER to SCN for some delicious carbs and delightful Christian fellowship.  We will pass the basket for Suriname, but if money is tight, DON'T LET THAT KEEP YOU FROM COMING!

                              "And they devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer."
                              Acts 2:42
                              Connecting with God and Others,
                              Pastor Dom
